Several parts of Odisha have been experiencing heavy rainfall for past few days. Incessant downpour under the impact of back-to-back low pressure systems has led to inundation in many low-lying areas bringing misery to the lives of people especially in west and south Odisha. Water level in different rivers flowing through Malkangiri is on a rise due to heavy rainfall. Communication has also been disrupted on National Highway 326 due to water-logging in some parts of the district. Besides, connectivity between Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has been affected severely because of nonstop rains. Water discharge has been affected in Sileru and Saberi rivers due to swelling of Godavari River.
